MC Lit / English 5 – Friday, December 4th

TODAY – Complete the BOOK RETURN SURVEY/OPTIONS on GClassroom to check-in today.

OFFICE HOURS:  In the zoom from 9 – 12 & 12:30 – 2.  Stop in with questions, get help w/ writing or request a book to read.

DEADLINES:

  • BOOK CLUB #2 padlet board answers due no later than end of Sunday 12/6 (if you don’t know how to access this, come see me in office hours and I’ll show you)
  • WRITING 6 – ID Exploration (BC#2 paper) due anytime between Friday 12/4 and end of day Sunday 12/6

REMINDERS & PAST DUE:  Don’t forget it’s not too late to complete writing that you skipped earlier in the semester.  Check out the page tabs at the top of the website to find MC LIT/ENGLISH 5&7 – WRITING ASSIGNMENTS & MC LIT/ENGLISH 5&7– NOTEBOOK CHECKLIST.  Catching up on these items this weekend will help you be ready to work on your portfolio next week.

MC Lit / English 5 – Wednesday, December 2nd

It’s an “on-demand”/asynchronous work day (NO ZOOM).  Here’s what to do:

FIRST:  Be sure to check-in TODAY by answering the attendance question on the GClassroom stream (if you haven’t already)

READ:  Finish your book for BOOK CLUB #2 (if you haven’t already. . . or at least make progress)

WRITE:  Work on answering 4 of the 11 questions on the padlet board for YOUR book club choice (instructions on Monday’s post – just scroll down)

STUDY:  Watch the video introducting the last (before your portfolio) writing assignment of the semester.  You’ll find this on today’s GClassroom stream.

WRITING 6 – ID Exploration (BC#2 paper)

CREATE:  Start thinking about and/or writing this paper.

DEADLINES:

  • BOOK CLUB #2 padlet board answers due no later than end of Sunday 12/6 (complete them by Friday if you can)
  • WRITING #6 due anytime between Friday 12/4 and end of day Sunday 12/6
  • Make-up Work – all 6 writing assignments can still be turned in in your portfolio at semester’s end (last date for those is Sunday 12/13)

STUDY/CREATE:  Instructions & Passwords for BOOK CLUB #2  Padlet board work.  Click the appropriate link below or visit padlet.com and put in the password listed below (immediately after the link & author’s name) for the book you chose to read.  Then answer (thoroughly) any 4 of the questions between today 11/23 & end of day Sunday 12/6.  Be sure you are logged into Padlet so you name shows & you receive credit for your entries.  (Note: your posts won’t show up until Mrs. C approves them.)

DEADLINES:  Your rap annotation (WRITING 5) due by end of day Sunday 11/15 (this is an EXTENSION to the previous due date!!!) – to submit just move it to our shared submissions folder.

REMINDERS/DEADLINES:  WRITING 5 (your rap annotation) start working on it. We’ll visit them again on Monday 11/9 so be sure to have something done by then.

WRITING 5 – Annotation  You can find a video of the steps to completing this assignment on today’s GClassroom stream.  Watch it to clarify the directions, see how to do the annotating in MSWord, and how to resave your work.  Get analyzing & annotating!
