PORTFOLIO FAQs
Q: Where do I start?
A: Open your Dropbox and check to see if you have all the papers. Write up drafts for any you are missing.
Q: I have all my papers. Now what?
A: Make sure the documents are named correctly and move them to your FALL PORTFOLIO folder.
Q: What does CLEAN copy mean?
A: A clean copy should have NO comments in MSWord (as ready as you think it should be). Be sure to look at your paper in the review tab (press show comments) or there could be comments and you just don’t realize it.
Q: What if I want to keep the comments group members/the teacher made on my paper?
A: Make a copy of your papers first. CLEAN one and use it in the portfolio. Keep the other one for yourself.
Q: How & Where do I create my portfolio folder?
A: Open your Submissions folder (that you already share with Mrs. C) then use the menu on the right side of the screen to click “New Folder” and name it FALL PORTFOLIO. Use the same menu to move files into this folder as needed. It should be INSIDE the submissions folder – DO NOT share it with Mrs. C separately.
Q: Can I continue to change papers I’ve submitted?
A: Yes. You may continue to edit and revise any of your papers up until the final due date for the portfolio. Use what you’ve learned this semester to make your writing what you wish it to be.
Q: Is my intro letter the one I wrote to start the semester or a new one?
A: NO. It is a completely new letter! Directions on the sheet about Letter & Abstracts.
Q: Does my letter need an abstract? (or to be MLA formatted?)
A: No. It should just look like a letter.
Q: I get lots of questions about abstracts. What they should do and how they are formatted…
A: Seriously. READ THE DIRECTIONS.
