Rhetoric & Comp – Tuesday, January 7th
Book talk & Indie Read. Quickwrite #2: “Hands” by Sarah Kay – respond, react, tell a story, create whatever you want. Trajectory: recap where we came from, what we’ve learned, and where we are going. Course syllabus overview.
Loose, general project schedule:
- January: working with sources & writing cited commentary
- February: Hamlet and writing rhetorical analysis (in groups)
- March: analysis / multi-genre start
- April: Multi-genre research project work
- May: portfolios & memory books
- + throughout: work on mb shorts, notebook writing, craft moves, etc.
Rhetoric & Comp – Monday, January 6th
Read aloud & Indie read. Notebook review & Quickwrite #1: “Hands” by Sarah Kay (trace your hand and write within about your own hands and their importance, accomplishments, features, etc.) Post-It Data Collection: WRITE CLUB edition & feedback on feedback.

Portfolio Information: Handouts, talk through, (hours 1 & 2 time for work). Basically, gather your papers (including the very first one you wrote last September), write two letters (one about writing and one about your reading), and pay attention to detail (names of documents, clean copyedit, etc.). More work time tomorrow.
