Dropbox Update:  I still don’t have resolution on getting verifications for email addresses at your school email addresses.  At this point, IF you have another gmail and would like to use it for Dropbox setup, go ahead.  (You can even create a gmail for free for this purpose if you want).  DO NOT sign up using another email server as you will then have problems logging in on the chromebooks, which we will need to do later in the semester.

Rhetoric & Comp – Friday, September 20th

Book talk & Indie read.  Read Like a Writer (RLaW): How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long & David Shannon – work in groups to see what you can discover in the writing.  Brief intro to Memory Book papers and options for paper #1.

Dropbox Update:  Still working on seeing if tech can resolve our issues with verification email.  Another option is to sign up with another gmail account.  IF you have a gmail and want to try this, go for it.  DO NOT sign up with another email server as you will have problems signing in on the chromebooks.  (You can create an extra email on gmail for free to use for this if you want.  At this point, I’m not saying you have to… unless it comes to that.)

To Do:

  • Set up Dropbox folders by end of day Sunday 9/22 (directions on the website – click the “Dropbox Set-Up” tab)*   I know we are hitting roadblocks in getting verification emails – I’m working on it with the tech dept and I’ll keep you posted.
  • Read something awesome!

Upcoming:  You will write draft #1 of your first paper – due in class Tuesday, Oct. 1.  All the details will follow next week, but in general, you will be able to choose to either expand an existing quickwrite from your notebook OR write any one of the 17 memory book chapters.  (Don’t panic.  You won’t write all 17 of them.)
