Assignment: Use the pre-conference AFTER sheet to answer questions about YOUR paper and determine if you need changes before tomorrow’s WRITE CLUB. Be ready for WRITE CLUB.

Book talks. Review: apostrophes ‘ Logos introduction – textbook chapter 5. Ethos & Pathos review/practice – “do the math” Work with Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal” – find ethos, pathos, logos.

English 7A – Tuesday, November 8th
Book talks & Indie read. Ethos – review. Quickwrite #23: “We Need Diverse Books” video (Matt de la Pena – you can find it on youtube) look for ethos. Reading: “do the math” by Penny Kittle.
Assignment: Find ethos and pathos in “do the math” – mark it. We’ll discuss logos tomorrow – read ahead in the textbook for better understanding.
