Welcome Back! In all Mrs. C’s classes, the goals are to examine what writing is for, what writing does, and what makes writing “good”. Let’s find beauty and power in words.
Today: class introductions, poem “What You Will Need in Class Today” by Matt Foley, notebooks issued and introduced, and book pass #1 to add titles to your TBR (to be read) list.
Assignment: Fill out the Survey on GClassroom sometime TODAY! Explore the website mrsconnollysclass.com and preview the course syllabus if you’d like (you’ll find it posted as material on GClassroom).
Welcome Back, GCHS!
Welcome to Mrs. Connolly’s Class – room 251 at GCHS. This website is homebase for your class with Mrs. C – a place to find daily happenings, reminders, links, downloads, etc. I will post in GClassroom basic assignment and due dates. Depending on which course you are enrolled in, you will submit work in a variety of ways via Dropbox, Flipgrid, Padlet, GClassroom, etc. Explore the tabs at the top to see what’s here.
Rhetoric & Comp – Thursday, December 17th

Rhetoric & Comp – Tuesday, December 15th
Final Reading Rate: Let’s take 10 minutes to read and calculate (in the “upside-down” of your notebook) an estimated reading rate for your current book. Put your results in the Individual Reading Rate form on today’s GClassroom post and take a moment to think about how & why your rate may differ (or not) from previous times you measured. Use this sheet FindYourReadingRate (sorry it’s sideways) to make your calculations.

PAST DUE: Everything. But finish up NOTEBOOK TOURS & FALL PORTFOLIOS if needed. Ask questions if you need to.
