  • Quick Grades Survey – find this on GClassroom – just 3 questions and honest answers
  • Past due – Day 1 survey (it’s still open)

Book talk. Quickwrite #1 –  “What’s in the Box?”  (try to write for 4 minutes with no stopping, no worries about correctness or if it’s “good”… just go).

Talk about independent reading. Check out Mrs. C’s letter to you by clicking the INDIE READ tab at the top and re-watch the video there if you’d like.

Welcome Back! In all Mrs. C’s classes, the goals are to examine what writing is for, what writing does, and what makes writing “good”. Let’s find beauty and power in words.

Today: class introductions, poem “What You Will Need in Class Today” by Matt Foley, notebooks issued and introduced, and book pass #1 to add titles to your TBR (to be read) list.

Assignment: Fill out the Survey on GClassroom sometime TODAY! Explore the website mrsconnollysclass.com and preview the course syllabus if you’d like (you’ll find it posted as material on GClassroom).

This website is homebase for your class with Mrs. C – a place to find daily happenings, reminders, links, downloads, etc. I will post in GClassroom basic assignment and due dates. Depending on which course you are enrolled in, you will submit work in a variety of ways via Dropbox, Flipgrid, Padlet, GClassroom, etc. Explore the tabs at the top to see what’s here.

Rhetoric & Comp – Friday, May 14th

OFFICE HOURS: Use the zoom link in GClassroom to stop in for assistance or to get answers to your questions. Anytime between 7:20am & 11:20am that you aren’t supposed to be in someone else’s live meet is fine.

CHECK-IN: Update the Padlet with whatever you’ve been reading lately. Take a break from social media and find just a few minutes to escape into a book of your choice.

DEADLINES & REMINDERS:

  • SPRING PORTFOLIO – no later than end of day TODAY Friday 5/14 (documents in Dropbox – be sure it’s in your Submissions folder!)
  • GRADE PITCH – no later than end of day SUNDAY 5/16 (Flipgrid video)
