Rhetoric & Comp – Wednesday, September 20th

Book talk & Indie read.  Parts of speech review:  prepositions, conjunctions, & interjections.  Quiz opens today!  Read:  excerpt “Ch. 1 Sustained Reading” from Minds Made for Stories by Thomas Newkirk.  Note how in “real” writing, genres blend.  Quickwrite #11:  What is privilege? video (1st hour did this yesterday).

1st hour only:  Quickwrite #11:  What is privilege?

Deadline:  This week you’ll write a new paper – your choice, quickwrite expand or memory book – but different from last week.  You’ll need the draft of a roughly 2 page, double-spaced piece in the shared WC draft folders on Friday.

Reminder:  Papers should be in WRITE CLUB even if circumstances keep you from physically being present.  (Also – you should really be present for WRITE CLUB…just sayin’).

Reminder:  This weekend would be a great time to use what you learned/discussed/discovered in WRITE CLUB Tuesday and rewrite, re-see, make changes, etc. while your group-talk is “fresh.”  Make sure the paper itself is an MSWord document with perfect MLA formatting.  Then save it and await further instructions.
