Book talk & Indie read with reading rate calculations.  Quickwrite #2:  This Class So Far?  Quickwrite #3:  What’s in the Box?  Quick discussion:  reading and writing connections.

To Do:

  • ESSENTIAL:  Apply to SWIC (or figure out your ID#) you need it Monday!
  • Read something fantastic!

“Bonus” opp:  bring in post-its and/or scotch tape to exchange for late hw passes (max 2 – due by 9/20)

Back to school!

Quick intro to class, a poem “What You Will Need in Class Today” by Matthew Foley, notebook intros, Quickwrite #1 – your reader/writer statement (if you missed class, see Mrs. C for details), bookpass 🙂

Assignment: If you haven’t already, see your school email to join the google classroom and fill out the quick survey this weekend to help Mrs. C get to know you.

  • revision points (if you conferenced after revising)

FINALS:  Everyone does a portfolio & Everyone reports for the finals period (where we will celebrate our reading)

  • 2nd hour:  Tuesday 12/18 10:10am
  • 5th hour: Wednesday 12/19 1:10pm
  • 7th hour:  Thursday 12/10 10:10am

Deadlines:

  • Fall Portfolio due in Dropbox by end of Sunday 12/16 (includes all papers w/ abstracts & intro letter)

Upcoming:  next week – celebration of reading at the final exam (yes, you have to attend the finals period).
