Book talk & Indie read.  WRITE CLUB for research paper (mark #1 of the multi-genre).

No class tomorrow due to S.A.T. testing (a great day to make changes and improvements to your research paper 🙂 )

English 8 – Wednesday, April 4th

Book talk & Indie read.   A basic strategy for writing research papers – claim, evidence, example, explain. Lab time for work on multi-genre writing/research project.

Deadlines:

  • Next WRITE CLUB date is Monday 4/9 for Mark #1 (4-5 pg. research piece)

English 8 – Tuesday, April 3rd

Info & Demo on posting your blog for booktalks.  Check the directions on the Mrs. C’s Indie Read site and use the secret email address given out in class.  Post early to make sure you don’t have tech problems.

Book talk & Indie read.  Time audit.  Lab time for work on research project.

Read aloud:  Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds.  Indie read. WRITE CLUB for MGdesigns.

Over break:  Check out your sources, read & annotate, start writing if you dare…

Deadlines:

  • SUB#1 revisions (optional) by end of day Sunday 3/25 (if you revise, change the document title by adding RV after SUB#1, and be sure to delete the comments – click the review tab for options).
